Hello, Ella:
This is your cousin (I think second-cousin, but I'm not sure how that works). Anyhow, your dad is my first cousin (that, I'm sure of). Your grandpa was my dear Uncle Charlie, and your great-grandpa would be my grandfather, also a Charles. So much for long introductions and family trees. I was chatting with your dad this evening...he sent me a Christmas card announcing a new grandchild had arrived, so I called to get further details. Please accept my congrats on the birth of your new baby girl. You have no memory of me at all, but I remember YOU as a baby girl. Most often in a backpack worn by your Dad, in the kitchen, while he was cooking dinner...you were famous for repeating Marx brothers routines that he had taught you, if memory serves.....
Best wishes for a little uninterrupted sleep, an occasional drool-free hour, some adult conversation each day, and the chance to shower before ten a.m.
Much love,
Laura
