I've gone through all my stuff and got rid of everything but letters and diaries and a few poems. When I did it I was aghast with how terrible it all was and I wanted to throw it all away. I'd thought I was good at writing (because that's what my teachers told me!) but the evidence was definitely to the contrary. What's scariest to me is that I still got good grades on the papers, along with enthusiastic comments. And the content of the papers was drivel, really. I'm not being modest.
